Black Organizations to Educate on Healthcare Needs of the Black Community

CHICAGO – JULY 20, 2020 – Outcome Health and seven leading organizations in healthcare marketing, media, content creation and advocacy will #ShareTheScope in a one-day campaign on Wednesday, July 22 when they turn over their social media channels to eight organizations and influencers focused on health issues and disparities facing the Black community. By “sharing the stethoscope” and their social media space, audiences will be exposed to new voices and perspectives from those who are tirelessly advocating for equity and justice in healthcare.

#sharethescopeBased on the highly successful #ShareTheMicNow, eight pairs of organizations, with a reach of more than one million followers, will #ShareTheScope with the aim of amplifying Black voices working toward change in America’s embedded racist healthcare system and reaching an audience they previously hadn’t.

Outcome Health, a healthcare innovation company reinventing Point of Care to facilitate better outcomes for patients and healthcare professionals, recognizes that economic instability, physical environment, inadequate education and lack of access to healthcare systems can perpetuate health disparities. Data compiled over a century by the National Medical Association, the oldest African American healthcare organization representing more than 50,000 Black physicians, shows that heart disease, diabetes, asthma, pregnancy-related deaths and COVID-19 are just a few of the health issues disproportionately affecting Black Americans. To engage and raise awareness, Outcome Health rallied industry leaders to effectively turn over their platforms for a day to demonstrate the urgency to eliminate racial discrimination in health care and create forums to educate the public.

“#ShareTheScope is Outcome Health’s call to action to the industry to educate and advocate on the deeply embedded gaps in healthcare for Black families,” stated Matt McNally, Outcome Health’s Chief Executive Officer. “Knowledge is power, so we decided to connect prominent Black organizations with our peers in healthcare who have a shared desire for justice to act together to collectively walk the walk, not just talk the talk….that’s who Outcome Health is. Outcome Health will #ShareTheScope with Suzet McKinney, DrPH, MPH, CEO/Executive Director of the Illinois Medical District, the second-largest urban medical district in the United States and home to four major hospitals.

“Despite the fact that healthcare in America has been a topic of debate for decades, the needs of people of color have not been given equitable consideration,” said Dr. McKinney.  “The opportunity to ‘Share the ‘Scope’ with Outcome Health for education and advocacy should be a catalyst to a growing recognition of the existing health disparities suffered by Black Americans, and we trust it will encourage more people to use their voices loudly to enact meaningful, lasting change .”

New Strategy Offers Choices at Moments of Care™

CHICAGO –MAY 27, 2020Outcome Health today announced the OH Virtual Waiting Room™, ushering the Point of Care sector into telemedicine with an empathetic, unique patient experience whenever and wherever patients are meeting with their physicians. The OH Virtual Waiting Room™ platform and original content will allow Outcome Health to serve every touchpoint of the patient-physician relationship including remote video consultations, as well as the usual in-person waiting room, exam rooms and infusion rooms.

Although other virtual care platforms do not offer patient-friendly content – often a blank screen with “please wait” during hold time – the OH Virtual Waiting Room™ engages patients with a content stream tailored to a provider’s specialty.  This curated experience aims to reduce a patient’s perceived wait time and keep appointment abandonment low – an intermittent problem that occurs with some telemedicine solutions.

“While Outcome Health remains present in doctor’s offices nationwide where we’ve always been, since telemedicine is here to stay, we have sped up our timetable and will begin rolling out the OH Virtual Waiting Room™ to continue serving the patient-physician relationship,” explained Nandini Ramani, Chief Operating Officer of Outcome Health.

OH Virtual Waiting Room™ launches with its first health network this month providing relevant educational and support content that is very similar to what patients would see in the physician’s office on the Outcome Health Waiting Room TV. Outcome Health Reaches Favorable Resolution with the DOJ Related to Past Misconduct by Former Employees

Company has established and continues to make significant investments in industry-leading compliance protocols and reporting standards

 CHICAGO – OCTOBER 30, 2019 – Outcome Health, a healthcare innovation company focused on supporting patients, caregivers and healthcare providers at the point of care, today announced it has entered into a non-prosecution agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) that resolves, with respect to the Company, the DOJ’s criminal investigation related to past misconduct by former employees. As described in the agreement, after reviewing the Company’s cooperation and remediation efforts, among other considerations, the DOJ determined not to prosecute Outcome Health for the past misconduct of the Company’s founders and select former employees, all of whom are no longer affiliated with the Company.

“We’re thrilled to resolve this matter, as it enables us to move forward and focus on our mission to be the indispensable partner to patients, providers and industry partners during moments of care,” said Matt McNally, Chief Executive Officer, Outcome Health.

“Over the past two years, Outcome Health implemented a comprehensive overhaul of our compliance and campaign-reporting policies,” said McNally. “These actions included engaging third-party auditors to ensure reporting accuracy, investing in partnerships with organizations like BPA Worldwide to validate key performance indicators, overhauling internal controls to improve the reliability of reporting, and forming an all-new leadership team, myself included.”

Assuming the conditions of the agreement continue to be satisfied, no monetary penalty will be imposed. Among other things, the agreement obligates the Company to continue its improvements to internal controls and compliance and to continue cooperating with the DOJ, and it credits the company’s extensive cooperation and remediation efforts. As described by the agreement, the Company has already paid or committed to pay approximately $65.5 million in restitution to its customers and set aside another $4.5 million for any potential future claims. This resolution does not alter any agreements currently in place with industry and content development partners.

“Over the past two years, Outcome Health has focused on doing right by our customers. In short, we are a completely new Company,” said McNally. “As the DOJ agreement acknowledges, we have new management, new owners, and new controls in place. We are excited to turn the page from this inquiry and focus on providing valuable content to physicians’ offices everywhere.”

In These Rooms captures their life-changing range of experiences in a way that updates, educates and immerses healthcare marketers and physicians in the patients’ reality during those “moments of care.”

In These Rooms reveals raw, authentic emotion when a patient is at the doctor’s office, enabling physicians, marketers and those in the healthcare industry to think differently about content: the right content at the right moments during the patient journey.

The long-form video is on Outcome Health’s website, and engagement with physicians and healthcare marketers will be driven with shorter spots that bring Outcome Health’s transformational point of view to life. These compelling shorter videos are being distributed with the support of selected healthcare trades. A companion social media campaign launches on September 23.

She currently serves as CEO and Co-founder of Bellatrix Group, a marketing consulting start-up focused on health and wellness.

Outcome Health Announces Partnership with the Ad Council in Support of “Caregiver Assistance” Campaign

Organizations collaborate to raise awareness of resources for caregivers

CHICAGO – June 12, 2019 Outcome Health, a healthcare innovation company focused on making the point of care experience more meaningful for patients and physicians, today announced a partnership with the Ad Council, the nation’s leading provider of public service communications. By supporting the Caregiver Assistance campaign, a joint effort of the Ad Council and AARP, Outcome Health is bringing awareness to the role that caregivers play and where to find support tools and online resources. This effort will reach patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals at the point of care across Outcome Health’s nationwide network.

According to Pew Research Center, there are more than 40 million unpaid caregivers of adults ages 65 and older in the United States. Since 2012, AARP and the Ad Council have offered them support with their “Caregiver Assistance” campaign, which encourages caregivers nationwide to access free Care Guides, planning resources, legal and financial guidance, and more at aarp.org/caregiving. Outcome Health’s in-house creative team, O/Studio, saw an opportunity to tailor the campaign’s messaging and creative assets for audiences at the point of care when they’re with their medical provider.

“Family caregivers are selflessly devoted to providing care to their loved ones – often at the cost of their own health and wellbeing,” said Lisa Sherman, Ad Council President and CEO. “This partnership with Outcome Health will allow us to reach caregivers with messaging that reflects their experience and offers them valuable resources so they know they aren’t alone.”

“Family caregivers make it possible for millions of older adults to live independently in their homes as they age,” said Bob Stephen, AARP Vice President Health & Security Programming. “AARP supports family caregivers in this role with free guides, advice, online community forums and more at aarp.org/caregiving.”

Outcome Health will distribute this campaign with the Ad Council and AARP across its nationwide platform, which includes Exam Room Wallboards, a digital touchscreen that offers access to 3D anatomical renderings for use during the consultation.

“Tailored, custom content that fits its platform has a history of being more effective than broad, generalized messaging,” said Heidi Anderson, Chief Growth Officer at Outcome Health. “By providing more details and actionable information, it is our goal that caregivers exposed to this campaign will have the resources they need to feel confident and supported in the care of their loved one.”
