Outcome Health Launches “Who Saves Me?” to Bring Awareness to the Crisis of Physician Burnout

By | News | No Comments

Mental Health America and Black Mental Wellness to Amplify the Campaign via Social Media

CHICAGO – OCTOBER 13, 2020 – Outcome Health today announced Who Saves Me?, a campaign to bring awareness to the overwhelming percentage of physicians who quietly suffer from burnout and mental health struggles. Supporting the campaign are Mental Health America (MHA), the nation’s leading community-based nonprofit promoting overall mental health, Black Mental Wellness, a virtual community dedicated to the mental health and wellness of black people of all ages.

Data aggregated from research, studies and polls on mental health issues among healthcare professionals (HCPs) reveals that HCPs may be susceptible to burnout and potential depression due to a number of conflating factors that are hitting our healthcare system, including and especially related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The vast majority of HCPs (92 percent) say that they have felt burnt out at some point because of their job; nearly 75 percent of HCPs say that the pandemic has exacerbated their own and/or their colleagues’ sense of burnout*.

Outcome Health, the healthcare innovation company reinventing Point of Care to facilitate better outcomes for patients, their loved ones and healthcare professionals, is developing Who Saves Me? visual assets highlighting HCP personal stories and will provide HCPs with links to obtaining help and support. The public service announcement-style campaign will air in both Spanish and English and is anticipated to touch an estimated two million or more viewers via social media, websites, and email communications directly to physicians and healthcare workers.

“Outcome Health is committed to providing healthcare professionals with the resources and support they need so they can continue to care for us,” explained Matt McNally, Chief Executive Officer of Outcome Health. “As we kept hearing about mounting depression in the healthcare community, we knew we had to take action by creating Who Saves Me? and partnering with organizations like Sermo and Mental Health America that are able to reach and help physicians.”

More than 40 percent of HCPs are concerned about the increased risk of contracting COVID-19 themselves or giving it to loved ones. Not only are they dealing with the exhaustion of treating a highly contagious and deadly virus, but they are also contending with longer hours, lack of proper personal protective equipment and added financial stressors like repaying student loans and pay cuts. Half (48 percent) of the HCPs surveyed said they would take advantage of mental health resources if they were offered by their employer or other organization.*

“It is concerning, though not surprising, that those on the front lines of the pandemic would be experiencing higher levels of anxiety or depression,” said Paul Gionfriddo, president and CEO of Mental Health America. “We are excited to be partnering with Outcome Health on this campaign to support healthcare professionals take care of their own mental health and ensure they have easy access to tools and resources.”

Since the start of the pandemic, MHA has seen a 710 percent increase in people indicating signs of depression, and a 520 percent increase in anxiety screenings through their online screening tool. To date, more than six million people have taken free mental health screenings through www.mhascreening.org, reinforcing their mission to identify and intervene early in the disease process to avoid a point of crisis.

Outcome Health intends to carry the campaign through the end of the year and is seeking additional partner organizations that are interested in helping healthcare professionals manage their mental health.

*Leading physician insights company, Sermo, conducted all HCP research referenced.

Outcome Health and Leading Healthcare Organizations #ShareTheScope in One-Day Social Media Turnover for Equity and Justice in Healthcare

By | News | No Comments

Black Organizations to Educate on Healthcare Needs of the Black Community

CHICAGO – JULY 20, 2020 – Outcome Health and seven leading organizations in healthcare marketing, media, content creation and advocacy will #ShareTheScope in a one-day campaign on Wednesday, July 22 when they turn over their social media channels to eight organizations and influencers focused on health issues and disparities facing the Black community. By “sharing the stethoscope” and their social media space, audiences will be exposed to new voices and perspectives from those who are tirelessly advocating for equity and justice in healthcare.

#sharethescopeBased on the highly successful #ShareTheMicNow, eight pairs of organizations, with a reach of more than one million followers, will #ShareTheScope with the aim of amplifying Black voices working toward change in America’s embedded racist healthcare system and reaching an audience they previously hadn’t.

Outcome Health, a healthcare innovation company reinventing Point of Care to facilitate better outcomes for patients and healthcare professionals, recognizes that economic instability, physical environment, inadequate education and lack of access to healthcare systems can perpetuate health disparities. Data compiled over a century by the National Medical Association, the oldest African American healthcare organization representing more than 50,000 Black physicians, shows that heart disease, diabetes, asthma, pregnancy-related deaths and COVID-19 are just a few of the health issues disproportionately affecting Black Americans. To engage and raise awareness, Outcome Health rallied industry leaders to effectively turn over their platforms for a day to demonstrate the urgency to eliminate racial discrimination in health care and create forums to educate the public.

“#ShareTheScope is Outcome Health’s call to action to the industry to educate and advocate on the deeply embedded gaps in healthcare for Black families,” stated Matt McNally, Outcome Health’s Chief Executive Officer. “Knowledge is power, so we decided to connect prominent Black organizations with our peers in healthcare who have a shared desire for justice to act together to collectively walk the walk, not just talk the talk….that’s who Outcome Health is. We intend to raise the bar on all aspects within the point of care space, which is a key piece of our mission as an organization.”

Outcome Health will #ShareTheScope with Suzet McKinney, DrPH, MPH, CEO/Executive Director of the Illinois Medical District, the second-largest urban medical district in the United States and home to four major hospitals.

“Despite the fact that healthcare in America has been a topic of debate for decades, the needs of people of color have not been given equitable consideration,” said Dr. McKinney.  “The opportunity to ‘Share the ‘Scope’ with Outcome Health for education and advocacy should be a catalyst to a growing recognition of the existing health disparities suffered by Black Americans, and we trust it will encourage more people to use their voices loudly to enact meaningful, lasting change .”

“#ShareTheScope fits well with our mission to mobilize and engage women and organizations to pursue greater opportunities for gender and racial justice,” said Linda Goler Blount, MPH, President and CEO of the Black Women’s Health Imperative, “This is a great opportunity to educate and shift public perception about the needs of Black women’s health.”

Outcome Health Announces OH Virtual Waiting Room™

By | News | No Comments

New Strategy Offers Choices at Moments of Care™

CHICAGO –MAY 27, 2020Outcome Health today announced the OH Virtual Waiting Room™, ushering the Point of Care sector into telemedicine with an empathetic, unique patient experience whenever and wherever patients are meeting with their physicians. The OH Virtual Waiting Room™ platform and original content will allow Outcome Health to serve every touchpoint of the patient-physician relationship including remote video consultations, as well as the usual in-person waiting room, exam rooms and infusion rooms.

Outcome Health is a healthcare innovation company reinventing Point of Care (POC) to facilitate better outcomes for patients, their loved ones, and healthcare professionals. Spurred by accelerated use of telemedicine solutions since the outbreak of COVID-19 and leaning into the Moments of Care™ strategy the company launched in 2019, Outcome Health is meeting the needs of physician practices and their patients by offering additional choices through personal and remote devices.  A recent survey indicates that 89 percent of physicians are now using and will continue to use telehealth services to treat patients versus 17 percent before the pandemic. (Source: MedData Group, an IQVIA Business).

“The growing adoption of telemedicine over the past few months means the Point of Care space is shifting beyond the physical four walls of a physician’s office – it’s also your living room, your car, your computer screen, and your phone screen,” said Matt McNally, Chief Executive Officer of Outcome Health. “In many ways, healthcare is more personal and more about choice than ever.”

The OH Virtual Waiting Room™ is being made available to select Outcome Health providers who use telemedicine solutions. Although other virtual care platforms do not offer patient-friendly content – often a blank screen with “please wait” during hold time – the OH Virtual Waiting Room™ engages patients with a content stream tailored to a provider’s specialty.  This curated experience aims to reduce a patient’s perceived wait time and keep appointment abandonment low – an intermittent problem that occurs with some telemedicine solutions.

“While Outcome Health remains present in doctor’s offices nationwide where we’ve always been, since telemedicine is here to stay, we have sped up our timetable and will begin rolling out the OH Virtual Waiting Room™ to continue serving the patient-physician relationship,” explained Nandini Ramani, Chief Operating Officer of Outcome Health.

OH Virtual Waiting Room™ launches with its first health network this month providing relevant educational and support content that is very similar to what patients would see in the physician’s office on the Outcome Health Waiting Room TV. The first OH Virtual Waiting Room™ features personalized content for a dermatologist specialty practice, addressing skin conditions, diseases, and care while proactively answering specialty-specific “frequently asked questions” to save time during the consultation.

All content presently in the OH Virtual Waiting Room™ is created and wholly owned by Outcome Health.  As more telemedicine solutions become compatible with video content delivery systems, the company expects that its OH Virtual Waiting Room™ video streams will integrate content from nonprofits and health advocacy groups and sponsored content from pharma partners.

Outcome Health’s John Vaughan Named One Of The 2020 PM360 ELITE 100

By | News | No Comments

NEW YORK –MAY 7, 2020 – John Vaughan, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for Outcome Health – a healthcare innovation company reinventing Point of Care to facilitate better outcomes for patients, their loved ones and healthcare professionals — has been named one of the 2020 PM360 ELITE 100 in the Mentor category. Now in its sixth year, the PM360 ELITE (Exceptional • Leaders • Innovators • Transformers • Entrepreneurs) represent the most influential people in the healthcare industry today. PM360 is the premier information resource for marketing decision makers in the pharmaceutical, biotech, diagnostics, and medical device sectors.

The Mentor category honors the industry gurus who serve as the role models that everyone else aspires to emulate. As the first-ever Compliance Officer for Outcome Health, Vaughan is setting a high bar for the rest of the Point of Care sector which previously had few foundational guidelines. He has set a new standard for POC by building in tenets and rigor that reflect the values he personally developed and cultivated through his advancement as both an attorney and compliance expert.

Vaughan believes that the elements of an effective compliance program should align with the customers’ expectations – even if they don’t have to – because Outcome Health’s network is in doctor’s offices and the company works with pharma partners that are heavily regulated. His appointment to the executive leadership team further underscores Outcome Health’s ongoing commitment to increase transparency and bring more rigor to its data measurement and reporting.

“John is an exceptional mentor simply by the example he sets,” said Matt McNally, Chief Executive Officer of Outcome Health. “This award honors his contributions and recognizes that they are appreciated and emulated by others, particularly to the healthcare and pharma industries. While a Compliance program so often is focused on enforcement, John looks at Compliance as an opportunity for continuous improvement. His goal is to make sure the company’s tenets of compliance, which he personally developed and organized, are embedded into our workplace culture.”

The PM360 ELITE Awards were established in 2015 to recognize individuals who have made a significant impact on the healthcare industry throughout their careers. More than 500 submissions were received and nominees were evaluated and selected by the PM360 editorial staff based on their accomplishments; testimonials from their bosses, clients, and colleagues; and supporting evidence that reflects the impact of their efforts. A total of 100 winners were selected across 18 categories, including Creative Directors, Data Miners, Digital Crusaders, Disrupters, Drug Researchers and Developers, Entrepreneurs, Launch Experts, Leaders of the Future, Marketing Teams, Master Educators, Mentors, Patient Advocates, PR Gurus, Sales MVPs, Strategists, Talent Acquisition Leaders, Tech-know Geeks, and Transformational Leaders.

“At a time when the world is being impacted by a healthcare crisis in the COVID-19 pandemic, it is nice to be able to reflect on the extraordinary work those in the life sciences do to discover, develop, and promote life-saving treatments,” says Anna Stashower, CEO and Publisher of PM360. “Our ELITE winners epitomize the very best of our industry. We are incredibly thankful for everything they do and proud to honor all of their achievements.”

The winners are profiled in PM360’s May 2020 issue. These profiles can be accessed online at https://www.pm360online.com/the-2020-pm360-elite-100.

MOMENTS OF CARE™ NAMED ONE OF THE MOST INNOVATIVE STRATEGIES OF 2019 BY PM360

By | News | No Comments

Chicago, IL, December 13, 2019 — PM360, a leading trade magazine for marketing decision makers in the pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, and diagnostics industries, has named Outcome Health’s Moments of Care as one of the most innovative Strategies of 2019.

Outcome Health is challenging the industry to create content and experiences that wrap patients with empathy, education and support at the “Moments of Care” when they are most vulnerable and most in need. This transition from “point of care” to “Moments of Care” prompted Outcome Health to launch In These Rooms, a campaign which reveals the raw, authentic emotions and range of experiences that can happen at the point of care – from waiting rooms with patients and caregivers, and in exam rooms with patients, caregivers and physicians.

“We appreciate PM360’s recognition for our Moments of Care strategy, which addresses our findings that the point of care channel is not in touch with what patients actually experience and what they need at this critical touchpoint of the health journey,” states Matt McNally, CEO of Outcome Health. “Proper content contextualization that takes into account what actually happens in these rooms will align our content offering with the full range of experiences that happen at the moment of care, from the joy of hearing a baby’s heartbeat for the first time, to the devastation that a treatment plan isn’t working.”

Moments of Care was selected as part of PM360’s 8th Annual Innovations Issue published each December. This issue was established to serve as a guide to the year’s most innovative Companies, Startups, Divisions, Products, Services, and Strategies from within the healthcare and life sciences industries. This comprehensive overview of the year’s most innovative achievements in these six categories helps other companies in the industry to find potential partners and offerings that can help them advance healthcare and life sciences.

“For the past eight years, we have worked to help the industry identify the latest and most exciting advancements that facilitate change in the industry, how it operates, or offer new advancements that better serve patients, doctors, payers, and others involved,” says Anna Stashower, CEO/Publisher of PM360. “We hope this guide can serve as an important resource for the industry throughout 2020 as we all work to improve the healthcare experience for everyone involved.”

PM360 received hundreds of submissions from across the healthcare and life sciences industries. The editorial staff of PM360 evaluated each submission and selected their picks for the most innovative, regardless of category. Ultimately, 60 total innovations were featured in the issue. Within the Strategy category, a total of 8 strategies were featured.

All of this year’s selections can be found at: www.pm360online.com/pm360-presents-the-2019-innovators

Outcome Health Reaches Favorable Resolution with the DOJ Related to Past Misconduct by Former Employees

By | News | No Comments

Company has established and continues to make significant investments in industry-leading compliance protocols and reporting standards

CHICAGO – OCTOBER 30, 2019 – Outcome Health, a healthcare innovation company focused on supporting patients, caregivers and healthcare providers at the point of care, today announced it has entered into a non-prosecution agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) that resolves, with respect to the Company, the DOJ’s criminal investigation related to past misconduct by former employees. As described in the agreement, after reviewing the Company’s cooperation and remediation efforts, among other considerations, the DOJ determined not to prosecute Outcome Health for the past misconduct of the Company’s founders and select former employees, all of whom are no longer affiliated with the Company.

“We’re thrilled to resolve this matter, as it enables us to move forward and focus on our mission to be the indispensable partner to patients, providers and industry partners during moments of care,” said Matt McNally, Chief Executive Officer, Outcome Health.

“Over the past two years, Outcome Health implemented a comprehensive overhaul of our compliance and campaign-reporting policies,” said McNally. “These actions included engaging third-party auditors to ensure reporting accuracy, investing in partnerships with organizations like BPA Worldwide to validate key performance indicators, overhauling internal controls to improve the reliability of reporting, and forming an all-new leadership team, myself included.”

Assuming the conditions of the agreement continue to be satisfied, no monetary penalty will be imposed. Among other things, the agreement obligates the Company to continue its improvements to internal controls and compliance and to continue cooperating with the DOJ, and it credits the company’s extensive cooperation and remediation efforts. As described by the agreement, the Company has already paid or committed to pay approximately $65.5 million in restitution to its customers and set aside another $4.5 million for any potential future claims. This resolution does not alter any agreements currently in place with industry and content development partners.

“Over the past two years, Outcome Health has focused on doing right by our customers. In short, we are a completely new Company,” said McNally. “As the DOJ agreement acknowledges, we have new management, new owners, and new controls in place. We are excited to turn the page from this inquiry and focus on providing valuable content to physicians’ offices everywhere.”

Outcome Health Launches “In These Rooms,” a Thought-Provoking Campaign to Transform Point of Care through Moments of Care™

By | News | No Comments

CHICAGO – SEPTEMBER 19, 2019 – Outcome Health, a healthcare innovation company focused on supporting patients, caregivers and healthcare providers at the point of care, launched In These Rooms — a bespoke campaign to transform the strategy of the industry from “point of care” to “moments of care™.” The campaign debuted at Digital Pharma East with a poignant, thought-provoking :90-second video depicting moments in waiting rooms with patients and caregivers, and in exam rooms with patients, caregivers and their physicians. In These Rooms captures their life-changing range of experiences in a way that updates, educates and immerses healthcare marketers and physicians in the patients’ reality during those “moments of care.”

In These Rooms reveals raw, authentic emotion when a patient is at the doctor’s office, enabling physicians, marketers and those in the healthcare industry to think differently about content: the right content at the right moments during the patient journey.

The long-form video is on Outcome Health’s website, and engagement with physicians and healthcare marketers will be driven with shorter spots that bring Outcome Health’s transformational point of view to life. These compelling shorter videos are being distributed with the support of selected healthcare trades. A companion social media campaign launches on September 23.

The Rooms and patient moments featured in these stories include: a waiting room, a pediatrician visit for an asthma check-up, an OB-GYN ultrasound room to hear a baby’s first heartbeat, a standard exam room for a long-overdue physical, and a doctor’s office to learn about treatment results.

“In pharmaceutical brand marketing, the role of most channels is to encourage patients to go to their doctor. However, the point of care channel is different; patients are already at their doctor’s office and they need something else,” said Matt McNally, CEO of Outcome Health. “In These Rooms challenges all pharma marketers and their agency partners to think differently about point of care and is the first step in our commitment to the ongoing understanding of the needs in this space. Today, we call on our industry to create content and experiences that wrap patients with empathy, education and support at the ‘moments of care’ when they are most vulnerable and need it most.”

Outcome Health is the leading point of care content provider with unrivaled scale and curated content dedicated to the patient experience at the point of care in the most physician’s offices plus waiting rooms, exam rooms, infusion centers and health systems across the United States. Their content reaches more patients and caregivers per week across the largest digital network at point of care via TV monitors, patient Wi-Fi, touch-screen wallboards and tablets. Outcome Health helps create better patient health outcomes at point of care by improving the patient experience and helping to strengthen the doctor-patient relationship.
