Outcome Health Announces Partnership with the Ad Council in Support of “Caregiver Assistance” Campaign

By | News

Organizations collaborate to raise awareness of resources for caregivers

CHICAGO – June 12, 2019 Outcome Health, a healthcare innovation company focused on making the point of care experience more meaningful for patients and physicians, today announced a partnership with the Ad Council, the nation’s leading provider of public service communications. By supporting the Caregiver Assistance campaign, a joint effort of the Ad Council and AARP, Outcome Health is bringing awareness to the role that caregivers play and where to find support tools and online resources. This effort will reach patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals at the point of care across Outcome Health’s nationwide network.

According to Pew Research Center, there are more than 40 million unpaid caregivers of adults ages 65 and older in the United States. Since 2012, AARP and the Ad Council have offered them support with their “Caregiver Assistance” campaign, which encourages caregivers nationwide to access free Care Guides, planning resources, legal and financial guidance, and more at aarp.org/caregiving. Outcome Health’s in-house creative team, O/Studio, saw an opportunity to tailor the campaign’s messaging and creative assets for audiences at the point of care when they’re with their medical provider.

“Family caregivers are selflessly devoted to providing care to their loved ones – often at the cost of their own health and wellbeing,” said Lisa Sherman, Ad Council President and CEO. “This partnership with Outcome Health will allow us to reach caregivers with messaging that reflects their experience and offers them valuable resources so they know they aren’t alone.”

“Family caregivers make it possible for millions of older adults to live independently in their homes as they age,” said Bob Stephen, AARP Vice President Health & Security Programming. “AARP supports family caregivers in this role with free guides, advice, online community forums and more at aarp.org/caregiving.”

Outcome Health will distribute this campaign with the Ad Council and AARP across its nationwide platform, which includes Exam Room Wallboards, a digital touchscreen that offers access to 3D anatomical renderings for use during the consultation.

“Tailored, custom content that fits its platform has a history of being more effective than broad, generalized messaging,” said Heidi Anderson, Chief Growth Officer at Outcome Health. “By providing more details and actionable information, it is our goal that caregivers exposed to this campaign will have the resources they need to feel confident and supported in the care of their loved one.”

Organizations Collaborate to Deliver Nationwide Campaign During National Bladder Cancer Awareness Month

CHICAGO – May 06, 2019 – Outcome Health, a healthcare innovation company focused on evolving the point-of-care market, today announced a partnership with Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN), the first national patient-based advocacy organization for bladder cancer. The two organizations will launch a nationwide educational campaign to increase public awareness about bladder cancer and prevention directly to patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals at the point of care.

According to the American Cancer Society, more than 80,000 Americans will be diagnosed with bladder cancer this year. Outcome Health collaborated with BCAN to distribute creative assets (digital posters and videos) across its nationwide digital platform to elevate bladder cancer awareness, including research and educational resources, for audiences at the point of care.

“BCAN is on the front-lines advocating for greater public awareness and increased funding for research to identify effective treatments and eventually a cure for bladder cancer,” said Andrea Maddox-Smith, BCAN’s CEO. “Our partnership with Outcome Health will allow us to reach people while they’re with their doctor, making both parties aware of the signs and symptoms of bladder cancer before it’s too late.”

In recognition of Bladder Cancer Awareness month in May, Outcome Health will distribute BCAN’s message across its platform, which includes technologies such as Waiting Room TV screens, which can promote specialty-specific content and deliver lifestyle management videos to patients’ pre-consultation, and Exam Room Wallboards, which offer access to 3D anatomical renderings for use during the consultation.

“Men are three to four times more likely to be diagnosed with bladder cancer than women, which is why we’ve ensured that BCAN’s message will be deployed to our devices at urologists’ offices across the country,” said Heidi Anderson, Chief Growth Officer of Outcome Health. “Early detection is critical for a better prognosis, and Outcome is proud to support BCAN’s medical and research professionals who are dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of bladder cancer.”

Organizations Collaborate to Deliver Nationwide Campaign During National Donate Life Month

CHICAGO – April 23, 2019 – Outcome Health, a healthcare innovation company focused on evolving the point-of-care market, today announced a partnership with Donate Life America, a national nonprofit committed to increasing the number of donated organs, eye and tissue available to save and heal lives. The two organizations will launch a nationwide educational campaign to raise awareness for donation registration directly to patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals at the point of care.

According to the US Department of Health & Human Services, more than 113,000 men, women and children await lifesaving organ transplants and every ten minutes another person is added to the national transplant waiting list. Outcome Health collaborated with Donate Life America to distribute creative assets (digital posters and videos) to educate and inform audiences at the point of care across its nationwide digital platform. The educational information in this campaign includes information on how to register as an organ, eye and tissue donor.

“It is our mission to make everyone aware that they can help save a life,” said David Fleming, President and CEO of Donate Life America. “This partnership with Outcome Health will allow us to reach people at those moments when they’re making important decisions about their health and well being. It takes less than a minute to register and your decision to do so gives hope to those waiting for a second chance at life.”

“The majority of Americans support organ donation, yet only 58% have registered as donors,” said Heidi Anderson, Chief Growth Officer of Outcome Health. “Outcome is proud to support Donate Life America by bringing attention to the national transplant waiting list and providing patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals with information on how to register.”

In recognition of Donate Life Month in April, Outcome Health will distribute this content across its platform, which includes technologies such as Waiting Room TV screens, which can promote specialty-specific content and deliver lifestyle management videos to patients’ pre-consultation, and Exam Room Wallboards, which offer access to 3D anatomical renderings for use during the consultation.

Outcome Health Announces New Content Strategy, Focused On Empathy and Education To Enhance The Patient Experience

By | News | No Comments

Leader in point of care technology reimagines content offering for a curated and customized content experience across its nationwide platform

CHICAGO – APRIL 10, 2019 – Outcome Health, a healthcare innovation company focused on making the point of care experience more meaningful for patients and physicians, today announced a new content strategy across its nationwide platform. Focused on empathy and education, the new approach to content development aligns with Outcome Health’s commitment to supporting the patient-physician relationship at the point of care by showcasing contextually relevant content and direct-to-consumer messaging in waiting rooms, exam rooms and infusion centers.

“We want Outcome Health to stand for ‘empathy,’” said Matt McNally, Chief Executive Officer, Outcome Health. “During an age when our heads are down looking at our phones, empathetic content is lacking, yet it’s what every person deserves, especially at the point of care. We want our content to be powerful, educational and relevant enough so that people look up.”

Outcome Health partnered with a third-party content agency to extensively audit its content library, scoring each piece for quality of information, production and brand alignment. Additionally, Outcome Health commissioned a survey of patients, physicians and nurses to better understand their content needs at this critical communications touchpoint.

These findings will influence the framework of Outcome Health’s content ecosystem, where all content will now fall within one or more of the following categories:

  •  Condition Specific: expert health content from nationally recognized sources;
  •  Healthy Living: lifestyle and wellness information;
  •  Provider Personalized: customized for the healthcare provider;
  •  Patient Power: original stories and insights from real patients;
  •  Mindfulness: meditation and relaxation content;
  •  Soulful Soar: soul-stirring nature photography;
  •  Optimistic Outcome: welcoming quizzes and explainers about health and healthy living; and
  •  Sponsored Content: from Outcome Health’s industry partners.

Outcome Health is working in partnership with a short list of high-quality content creators from clinical to lifestyle and mind-body connection that align with the company’s new empathetic content strategy. The company most recently entered into partnerships with Curiosity, Nature Relaxation and Headspace.

“The healthcare community has recommended Headspace to their patients to help alleviate the stress and anxiety associated with the management of various chronic conditions for years and we’re humbled by the stories we hear from patients nearly every day about the positive impact Headspace has had on their lives,” said Dr. Megan Jones Bell, Chief Science Officer, Headspace. “By combining our evidence-backed content with Outcome Health’s network, we are honored to make Headspace readily available to those who need it most, when they need it most.”

The content will interplay across Outcome Health’s suite of devices at the point of care and will be tailored by specialty and to the different stages of the patient visit.

“Outcome Health’s digital platform exists at the most vulnerable touchpoints of the patient journey, and audiences here are thirsty for information and inspiration,” said Heidi Anderson, Chief Growth Officer, Outcome Health. “Through partnerships with high quality publishers and curated original content, we are developing an experience that informs, inspires, entertains and renews to enhance a patient’s connection with their doctor, from the first to the last moment of their visit.”

Outcome Health plans to measure the success of this content overhaul by bi-annually surveying patients and providers. These insights will be used to quantify the perceived trust in a brand and its content, and improve the resources offered for waiting and exam room experiences.

Organizations Collaborate to Raise Awareness for Flu Vaccination

CHICAGO – November 26, 2018 – Outcome Health, a healthcare innovation company focused on evolving the point-of-care experience, today announced a partnership with the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) Foundation. The Foundation is the charitable arm of the Infectious Diseases Society of America. IDSA represents a community of more than 11,000 physicians, scientists and other health care professionals who specialize in infectious diseases. Outcome Health and the IDSA Foundation will launch a nationwide campaign raising awareness of the importance of flu vaccination and reach patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals at the point of care.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 80,000 Americans died of the flu in the winter of 2017-2018, the highest toll from seasonal flu in more than a decade.

“Anyone can get the flu–even healthy people–and serious problems related to flu can happen at any age, but some people are at high risk of developing serious flu-related complications if they get sick,” said Bill Powderly, MD, FIDSA, IDSA Foundation Chair. “This includes people 65 years and older, people of any age with certain chronic medical conditions, such as asthma, diabetes, or heart disease, as well as pregnant women, and children younger than 5 years.”

The IDSA Foundation’s conFLUsion campaign was created to dispel many misconceptions people have about flu. Outcome Health will distribute this content across its platform, which includes technologies such as waiting room TV screens, which can promote specialty-specific content and deliver lifestyle management videos to patients pre-consultation, and exam room wallboards, which offer access to 3D anatomical renderings for use during the consultation.

“Immunization is the most effective way to prevent influenza, and all people over 6 months of age are recommended to get the vaccine,” said IDSA member Kathryn Edwards, MD, FIDSA, professor of pediatrics in the division of infectious diseases at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. “Everyone should receive their vaccine before the influenza season begins this winter. The flu vaccine is available from health care providers now.”

“Outcome Health is committed to partnering with leaders in healthcare,” said Matt McNally, Chief Executive Officer at Outcome Health. “Given how preventable the spread of flu can be, this collaboration with the IDSA Foundation ensures that their expertise reaches patients at their most critical moments of care.”

Organizations Collaborate to Deliver Nationwide Campaign to Raise Awareness For Hepatitis and Other Liver Diseases

CHICAGO – August 14, 2018 – Outcome Health, a healthcare innovation company focused on evolving the point-of-care market, today announced a partnership with the American Liver Foundation (ALF), a non-profit organization that promotes liver health and disease prevention, to raise awareness of liver disease, specifically hepatitis C. The two organizations will launch a nationwide campaign to promote the recently updated hepatitis C screening recommendations to patients in physician offices.

“Hepatitis C is curable for more than 95 percent of people who undergo treatment, but 80 percent of people are unaware they are living with the disease,” said Tom Nealon, President and CEO of the American Liver Foundation. “Therefore, it is critical that we reach patients with the most up-to-date information about this potentially deadly illness so they can understand their risk and get tested. This partnership with Outcome Health allows us to reach Americans at a critical point in their care when they’re in their physicians’ office assessing their options.”

Outcome Health will deploy a series of creative assets (like digital posters) to educate and inform both patients and healthcare professionals across its nationwide digital platform. The educational information in this campaign includes the updated screening guidelines along with basic information about hepatitis and other liver diseases.

“Fifty-five million people across the world don’t know that they are living with hepatitis C,” said Matt McNally, Chief Executive Officer at Outcome Health. “By amplifying this message in partnership with the American Liver Foundation, we can encourage more patients to talk to their doctors about getting tested, and facilitate disease prevention.”

Outcome Health will distribute this message to all Exam Room Wallboards across its nationwide network. These digital touch screens offer access to 3D anatomical renderings for use during the consultation. Physicians can zoom, rotate and annotate body systems and disease states to give patients a personalized visual of their health.
