The Importance of Mental Health
Just like going to a doctor for an annual checkup or visiting the dentist for a cleaning, it is important to maintain good mental health as well. Mental illness can impact your daily life by affecting your thoughts, feelings, behaviors and mood. Anxiety, depression, and other mental health conditions can be brought on by genetics, environment, or other life events outside of your control. It is important to know that you are not alone in your struggle and your mental health is just as important as your physical health.

This poster is running across Outcome Health’s point-of-care platform as a reminder for patients to treat their mental health like their physical health.
Tips to Improve Mental and Emotional Health
Regular exercise and a good sleep routine are two easy ways that can help improve your mental health. Just 30 minutes of exercise a day can release mood boosting endorphins to combat anxiety and stress – especially if done outside. Nature is a proven stress reliever and sunlight helps increase your levels of Vitamin D and serotonin. A regular bedtime can also help manage emotional health – sleep deprivation can severely impact your mood. If you are still having trouble managing your mental health, don’t be afraid to ask for help.
